About Ethiopia

Found in the Horn of Africa, Ethiopia or the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia is a landlocked country. It shares its borders with Eretria to the north, Djibouti to the northwest, Somalia to the east, Kenya to the south, South Sudan to the west and Sudan to the northwest. The country’s capital city – which is the largest, is Addis Ababa.

Did you know during the late 19th Century’s Scramble for Africa, Ethiopia and Liberia were the only countries in Africa that preserved their sovereignty from long-term European colonial conquest? Well, nothing could be further from the truth.

Ethiopia as a destination has so much to offer to the discerning traveller. One can choose to marvel at the rock-hewn churches of Lalibela or feel the heat at the sweltering Danakil depression or even immerse themselves in nature at Bale Mountains National Park. The park is home to Ethiopia’s endemic animals such as Menelik’s bushbuck, Semien Fox, Giant mole-rats, the Mountain Nyala and so much more. Let’s go and explore this paradise together.
