Why Private Safaris
Why Private Safaris!
In East Africa
For over 50 years, Private Safaris has been quietly shaping some of the most meaningful journeys across East Africa. Founded in 1976, we are one of the region’s longest‑standing destination management companies deeply rooted in the landscapes, cultures, and rhythms of this extraordinary part of the world. From our base in Kenya, we work hand‑in‑hand with a trusted global network of travel partners, welcoming travellers from every corner of the world and seamlessly guiding them through East Africa with care, insight, and integrity.
But longevity is not what defines us, it is how we travel
At Private Safaris, we believe that journeys to East Africa should move you, not rush you. They should be unhurried and deeply personal, grounded in authenticity and shaped by the moments that don’t make it into guidebooks: the hush before sunrise on the savannah, the way dust glows gold in the late afternoon light, the stories shared by those who call this land home. A safari, to us, is not a checklist of sightings it is a feeling that stays with you long after you leave.
Every journey we design is an invitation to connect: with nature in its rawest form, with cultures that carry ancient wisdom, and with a slower, more intentional way of seeing the world. This is East Africa as it is meant to be experienced intimate, soulful, and unforgettable. And it is a privilege we have been honoured to share with travellers for generations.

Hear It From Travelers
The tour was well-organized, and we enjoyed every bit of it. However, I wish we had more free time to explore on our own. Overall, a great experience!

FranceJust spent the most amazing week on Safari with Private Safaris. Well organised and the opportunity to see lots of different wildlife and scenery. Saw loads of lions, a leopard on day 1, cheetahs, chased by hippos, and the amazing migration which has to be seen to be believed. Special shout out to our guide Otete who was absolutely awesome. Nothing was too much trouble and he looked after us all so well and ensured we always got prime position for seeing all the animals. Would definitely do again and would insist on Otete as my guide!
