Discover 3 Reasons

Why Nairobi National Park Belongs to Your Bucketlist:

Nairobi National Park

Beyond the towering skyscrapers and the deafening music from the most popular Nairobi’s means of commute - matatus or ‘mathrees’, as they are locally known- lies a haven of peace, sheer magnificence and tranquillity.  About 10 km drive out of Nairobi Central Business District is Nairobi National Park, the world’s only wildlife capital.

The park is home to varied forms of flora and fauna, all against the city’s background. The park is a popular outing space for families, couples, travellers and organised business groups. Nairobi National Park is a thriving rhino sanctuary and one of Kenya’s most successful rhino sanctuaries.

The park's predominant environment is an open grass plain with scattered Acacia bushes. The western uplands of the park have highland dry forest with stands of Olea africana, Croton dichogamus, Brachylaena hutchinsii, and Calodendrum. The lower slopes of these areas are grassland. Wildlife in the park includes Giraffe, leopard, zebra, buffalo, antelope, lion, black and white rhino, hippo, and crocodile.

Nairobi National Park

The Park is an exceptional destination for bird lovers with more than 400 species of birds on record. Between March and May of every year, the bird population tends to swell when a host of European migrants make the park their home. Picnic and event sites include Impala observation point, Ivory burning site, Kingfisher picnic site, the club house and Mokoyiet picnic site, which offer perfect grounds for weddings, bush dinners, team building, corporate events and picnic outings.
