Nairobi is Kenya’s capital, having risen in a single century from a brackish uninhabited swampland to a thriving modern-day capital.
Nairobi is a city that never sleeps. During the day, the city is thronged with people from all walks of life; some looking to make it to work before time, others to open their business and others like yourself, looking to embark on a very interesting and rewarding safari journey of other parts of Kenya. During the night, when most of the population has retired to their areas of residence and the dust has settled in, this is the opportune moment to experience Nairobi’s nightlife.
Kenya’s capital is a place of great contrasts where race, tribe and origin all become facets of a unique Nairobi character. The city has not either lost its sense of the past, with an excellent museum and the historical home of Karen Blixen, author of Out of Africa open to visitors.
Imagine! A 20 minutes drive out of the capital only to find a wildlife sanctuary, covering 117 sq km of plains, cliffs and forest. Better yet, the sanctuary teams up with various forms of wildlife; It’s home to large herds of zebra, wildebeest, buffalo, giraffe and more. Rhino, cheetah, and a large number of lions are also found here, living wildly within the park. This wildlife sanctuary is none other than the Nairobi National Park. It’s the only wildlife national park that’s found within a city anywhere in the world.
